Pastor Phil NicewongerI was born January 19, 1971 in Albany, New York. I grew up in upstate New York and was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. After high school, I attended Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and received a degree in Biology/Environmental Science.

I moved back to New York after college, got a job in my field, and volunteered as a youth leader in the church I grew up attending. Long story short, God very methodically and purposefully moved me from doing environmental consulting work to full-time youth ministry, and then called me to plant Twin Villages Church. It has been an interesting journey, but one that I would not change at all.

God has blessed me with my wonderful wife Faith and three children: Dorie, Matthew, and Elijah. We were blessed to be called to minister and serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at First Baptist Church in Waldoboro as the Minister of Youth & Christian Education, where we served for more than eight years. I have continued to pursue a Master of Divinity degree while serving as pastor of Twin Villages Church.

phil signAn important verse for me is 1 Peter 3:13-17: "Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?  But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed.  Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil."

I am excited and look forward with great anticipation to be part of where God leads and directs the ministries of Twin Villages Church.
